June 20, 2024

FRESH NOSTALGIA

Content Creator

The Fresh Nostalgia is a 90s/early 2000s creator from Los Angeles, California. She joined Tik Tok in 2020 during the pandemic. She began creating her own videos in 2021 . Watching and producing nostalgic content brought her great comfort. Connecting and reflecting with others from her generation was an incredible experience. One she hopes to continue for years to come.

Where to find Fresh Nostalgia:

Tell us a bit about you!

Hi! My name is The Fresh Nostalgia and I’m a 90s/earky 2000s content creator from Los Angeles California.

Tell us what inspired you to start creating

I was definitely inspired during the pandemic. Staying inside constantly concerned about what was going on in the world , consuming movies and tv shows from my childhood brought me so much comfort so I figured why not create content that was nostalgic related.

How would you describe yourself and your account?

My account focuses on all things pop culture from the 90s / early 2000s. A dash of the 80s as well . Lots of vids of me recreating what it was like as a kid the first time seeing or experiencing something iconic from that era . Hello Devon Sawa in Casper! Swoons!

Favorite content to create?

I like to create content about what it was like for kids in the 90s vs what it’s like for the kids of today. The kids today seem so hip and trendy while 11 year old me was rocking huge Urkel glasses, overalls and a dead tamagotchi around my belt loop . lol

Who are some other creators you love?

I definitely love so many of the nostalgia/ pop culture creators like Chrissy Allen , Yasmine Sahid , 90sKid4Lyfe and The Nostalgic Latino . Obsessed with their vids!

What was it about Nickelodeon that you loved so much?

90s Nickelodeon was was my all time favorite! A network full of amazing children’s animated and live action programming. Not to mention a studio in Florida that looked like one of the most exciting places ever to visit ! 90s Nickelodeon just made you feel …like being a kid was the greatest ever . Like we kids could do anything ! Best era!

Favorite Nickelodeon show?

All That and Kenan and Kel . Forever and always!

Favorite Nick Toon?

Definitely Hey Arnold. I used to tape every episode!

If you could be on any show growing up which would you want to be on?

I must say the #1 show I wanted to be on as a kid was ZOOM! Getting to hang out with 6 other kids, playing games, cooking, performing skits, etc all while being yourself seemed like the world’s greatest gig!

Did you ever write zoom when you were a kid?

Haaa ! Too many times ! My submissions never made it onto the show but they were on the Zoom website which was pretty cool!

Favorite nostalgic snack?

Hmm probably cinnamon sugar toast ! I still eat it on occasion and it takes my right back to watching Kids WB lineup after school . I’d always eat that while watching Tiny Toons.

Top 5 theme songs you would have as a playlist

Fresh Prince

All That
Goof Troop
Salute Your Shorts

One on One!

A goofy movie or an extremely goofy movie?

A Goofy Movie without a doubt. I love both films but come one ! Powerline ! lol

Did you keep anything from your childhood that you still have?

Thankfully yes ! I wish I was more of a sentimental kid growing up and didn’t toss nearly everything but I somehow managed to save my Aladdin and Jem and the Holograms dolls ! Also some Giga Pets and my Land Before Time VHS!

Anything new and exciting that you can share with us?

I’m currently an ambassador for the upcoming Splat Con in Los Angeles this October! It’s a convention celebrating Nickelodeon actors of the 90s and 2000s ! No affiliation with Nickelodeon or Viacom . Gonna be a blast ! Tickets are available now!

A phrase you would leave for a nostalchick – your words of wisdom
