Where to find Nancy:

Tell us a little about yourself!

My name is Nancy Putignano. I am 36 years old and my birthday is May 27th. I was born in Queens, NY and currently reside in Massachusetts.

Your content is so fun and I feel really relatable. What do you think helps contribute to that?

I think my content is so relatable because I lived it! I was always into fashion and kept up with the trends through the years. It helps that I saved a lot of my items, so it makes it that much more accurate. I take pride in my accuracy and I like to use music from the time period I am recreating, as it helps tie it all together.

What is your favorite content to create?

My favorite content to create is my getting ready videos from different eras such as the 90s, 2000s, and early 2010s. I have very fond memories from each time period so it’s hard to choose a favorite to recreate. But if I had to pick I would say the late 90s/early 2000s. The lip smackers, glosses, glitter, and perfumes from that time are super nostalgic to me!

What is your favorite content to consume?

Besides other nostalgia content, I really love watching comedy, asmr videos, food, current fashion, etc

What did you love most about being a millennial?

I love what I got to experience. I loved growing up in the 90s. I have the greatest memories as a kid! The music, the toys, the shows, the snacks. I loved the time of AOL in the late 90s/early 2000s. Being a teen in the 2000s was the best!

What 5 cds would’ve been in your cd player growing up?

Nsync
Britney Spears
Now 2
TLC
Backstreet Boys

What were some shows you loved growing up?

My favorite shows growing up as a young teen/older teen were TRL, all the MTV reality shows, Saved by the Bell, Full House, Seinfeld, the list goes on!

You do a ton of fun style videos – what were some of your favorite trends of the time?

In the late 90s I loved chunky oxford shoes and the platform sneakers. I loved being taller as I am 5’3, haha. In the 2000s I loved capri pants & shrugs, and in the late 00s/early 2010s I loved waist belts and platform heels.

What about stores?

Stores I loved growing up were Pacific Sunwear, Demo, Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Deb, Wetseal, Macys, American Eagle, claires

It looks like most of the pieces you’ve had. Were they yours or did you thrift a lot of them?

A lot of my items are my originals that I saved, but I also find pieces along the way, whether thrifting, someone gifting me something to use for a video, or even me finding current throwback fashion in stores since it’s all back in style!

Snacks you would’ve most likely had at a sleep over?

Snacks I would have had at a sleepover would be dunkaroos, kudos bars, string thing, fruit roll ups and amazing fruit gummys

Wet Seal or Deb?

I have to say Deb because that’s the store I grew up with. I have the greatest memories from Deb! Wet seal was an hour away from me, so I didn’t have access to it so easily. But I started shopping there a lot more in my late teens/early 20s.

What do you hope people take most with them when viewing your content?

I hope I take people to a safe place, a fun place, a time where life was more carefree for them. My content makes people emotional—sad and happy all at once which is exactly what nostalgia is. It evokes feelings of longing for the past and simply remembering something. I keep that spirit alive in the videos I create. I transport people to a special moment in time with a 15-18 second video.

Have you gotten to partner and collab with other creators?

Not yet with videos, but I have met a few other creators at events we were all invited to.

A phrase you would give to a nostalchick

“If you love it then wear it! “ (Don’t worry about what’s “in or not” or if it’s not the current trend)
